Primary Responsibilities

Design and Implement Remote Tutoring Operations

  1. Plan, procure and implement technology for remote tutoring in the Santa Ana Unified School District, beginning with grades 1-4.
  2. Coordinate the recruitment of volunteer tutors for remote tutoring
  3. Train volunteer tutors, students and parents on remote tutoring technology and procedures
  4. Oversee daily operations of remote tutoring for effectiveness and safety
  5. Provide feedback to tutors on effective practices
  6. Create training materials as needed
  7. Manage registration and agreements
  8. Serve as primary contact with students and parents

Fundraising and Communications

  1. Apply for 6 grants per year including 2 existing recurring grants
  2. Organize 3 online or in-person fundraising events per year
  3. Cultivate relationships with individual donors
  4. Manage social media and monthly email newsletter

Implement Organization’s Vision

  1. Develop a multi-year strategy to implement the organization’s vision and mission
  2. Supervise staff for on-site tutoring, parent program and parent communication
  3. Solicit and incorporate input and involvement from parents
  4. Participate in monthly board meetings as needed

Qualifications

  1. Associate (AA or AS) degree
  2. Bilingual in English and Spanish
  3. Proven track record as a self-starter

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Management or leadership experience (2 years)
  2. Baccalaureate degree
  3. Experience in education field (3 years)
  4. Experience in planning, selecting, implementing technology software and hardware
  5. Experience providing technology training

About us

La Semilla Learning Center (a dba of French Court Learning Center) is a faith-based after-school homework center located in downtown Santa Ana. Our initial interest is to provide homework assistance to our current students (grades 1 – 4), but desire to eventually expand to include a wider population and more grade levels. We have a learning center in downtown Santa Ana, but this position is designed for someone to work remotely. While we are a Christian, faith-based organization, we do not require our staff to embrace the tenets of our faith.

Hours and Compensation

Type: Full time, August – May

Hours: Monday-Thursday 2-6pm plus 24 flexible work hours per week

Holidays: School district holidays; flexible hours during school breaks (Winter, Spring and Thanksgiving)

Reports to: Board-appointed liaison

Pay: $5500/month August – May, plus medical benefit stipend
